What To Wear To Spring Carnival 2026

Derby Day In Black & White
Derby Day’s signature monochrome style rewards attention to detail, and although it is not compulsory, there is pleasure in working with a black and white palette. Start with the black Ives suit. Its slim cut draws a clean line, while the soft, full-canvas construction gives the jacket shape without making movement feel studied. Wear it with a crisp white shirt and a black bow tie. Let the contrast do the work. A neatly folded white pocket square adds light at the chest. Finish with polished black leather shoes. Monochrome becomes dull when every surface is flat, so pay attention to the textures of suiting, silk and cotton.

Melbourne Cup In Color
Cup Day calls for tailoring that feels at ease in the spring sunshine. The Stokes suit in sand brings natural texture through a lightweight linen–cotton blend, with soft construction and natural shoulders giving the slim silhouette a relaxed feel. Step lapels and a fine twill weave keep the finish polished, while adjustable side tabs refine the fit of the trousers. Pair it with the white Onder shirt, whose pure cotton herringbone adds subtle texture beneath the jacket. Italian-made suede loafers complete the look with a soft finish and flexible Blake-stitched construction, taking the outfit comfortably from the racecourse to dinner afterwards.

Stakes Day With Ease
For the Carnival’s final Saturday, the Lawson suit in navy seersucker brings a relaxed ease to Stakes Day. Super 100’s wool with a touch of elastane gives the cloth texture and subtle stretch, while an unstructured jacket and natural shoulders soften the slim silhouette. Adjustable side tabs keep the trousers’ waist clean without a belt. Beneath the jacket, an off-white linen–cotton T-shirt introduces a lighter contrast, its natural texture complementing the seersucker. Espadrilles crafted from calf leather, suede and nubuck complete the look, with a foldable heel and flexible rubber sole adding to the ease. Together, the pieces feel equally at home trackside or over lunch afterwards.
